Please be on time for your appointment. If you are early you may have to wait on the bench outside or in your car. If you are late I may not be able to see you as it will throw out timings for the whole day and it’s not fair to other clients.
If you are feeling unwell in any way (including symptoms of cold and flu) or have had any symptoms of Corona virus in the last two weeks, have tested positive or are living with someone who has tested positive, please rearrange your appointment. I am relying on you to keep myself, my family and other clients safe and well.
Please wash your hair on the morning of your appointment regardless of the service you are having. I have to work on clean hair.
Please come alone to your appointment. I can only have one person in the salon with me at any time. If you come with others they will have to wait in your car or outside. If you are bringing a child for their haircut then you can come in with them.
Please bring the minimum you need with you - phone, keys, purse, or handbag - anything else will have to stay outside.
Please be aware that if this is your first appointment back since before lockdown, it may cost a bit more. Please also allow extra time.
I will accept cash or bank transfer at the time of your appointment.
If you have the NHS Track and Trace app, the QR code to scan yourself into the salon is available at the entrance.
No magazines will be provided but feel free to bring your own. The toilet will still be available.
It has been recognised that if you have had Corona virus, you can react differently to products and chemicals, even if you have used them previously. In some cases, people have had very serious reactions. If you have had symptoms, or a positive test in between chemical services, you will need to have a skin test at least 48 hours before your appointment, to rule out new sensitivity or allergy.
As per Government guidelines, from 30 November 2021 you are required to wear a mask in public spaces such as shops. I would recommend bringing two disposable masks as they are likely to get damaged or stained, especially if you’re having a colour service. I have disposable masks available, if you would rather use those, or you’ve forgotten your own - all I ask is for a donation to Motor Neurone Disease research in memory of a special lady.
There is to be no smoking in the salon or any of my garden areas and no disposing of ash or cigarette butts in the bins.
Please respect that you are in my home and garden. The more things you touch, the more I have to disinfect and clean. Please do not touch the garden ornaments or use the garden furniture. Please do not let children wander around the garden, as I cannot be responsible for their safety. If you are waiting, please wait on the bench outside the salon as directed or the bench inside the salon. Any children left unsupervised will be given a bucket of sweets and lots of pink hair dye. You have been warned!
Hygiene and Cleaning
Many of you will know I’m a bit of a clean freak and will have witnessed me cleaning up even before you leave sometimes 😂, but I just wanted to reassure you of my general cleaning habits regarding my home salon, my mobile kit and myself in general.
To prepare for your appointment, I make sure that:
I use fresh towels for each appointment;
My towels and gowns are washed with non-biological washing powder and germicidal stain remover;
I have disposable, one use towels available for use on request;
I use disposable, one use capes around your neck and shoulders;
My chair is wiped down with sterilising solution or antibacterial wipes;
All of my equipment is washed with sterilising solution;
Electrical equipment is wiped with antibacterial wipes;
Hand sanitiser is available for your use, and I wash my hands before, during, and after treatments!
Every day, I make sure that:
Toilet is bleached and wiped with antibacterial wipes;
Mirror cleaned with vinegar spray;
Door handles, locks, toilet flush (anything touched by hands) is wiped with antibacterial wipes;
Cups and glasses are run through a hot dishwasher;
Mobile kit bags go from my clean cupboard to my clean car boot to your clean tables or kitchen sides (I don’t put them on the floor ever, so they don’t get dirty).
Every month, I additionally:
Thoroughly deep clean all my kit, equipment and anything else cleanable.
Scrub my mobile kit bags out with carpet cleaner paying special attention to the bottoms of the bags.
You can also be helpful to me too. There is hand sanitiser available if you wish to use it when you get to me.
Please make sure your hair is clean for me - washed on the day of your appointment unless instructed otherwise.
If you (or people in your home if I’m coming out to you) are feeling poorly I would rather you postpone your appointment and get yourself well before re-booking. I am healthy myself but I have clients who have suppressed immune systems or are very vulnerable and I wouldn’t want to take any germs to them and put them in a dangerous position.
